Dean and the Siren (Week 1)

Captain Dean Repay his Debt

And as for those who are bent on denying the truth, I shall cause them to suffer a suffering severe in this world and in the life to come, and they shall have none to succor them-

Act 1

It was dark and the rain dropped heavily, the water dashed out great forms of waves. The sun won’t be coming out even if the heavens allow it. Even the most knowledgeable ship commanders would have trouble navigating through this storm.
And in the middle of this tempest lies the Ugly Bastard, the great pirate ship owned by Captain Dean. It is sailing through the deadly storm led by the crazed leader himself- Captain Dean. He stood strong and calm gripping onto the ship’s wheel and manning the ship, while his band of pirate crew rushed here and there to sustain the ship’s structure from the gushing wind and torturous waves. Captain Dean grins heavily at the sight of death.

“Isn’t this glorious, boy?” he shouted to young Patrick. “It is only in the face of death that we truly feel alive.”
Young Patrick had become one of the captain’s closest companions on the ship. They had formed a strong bond after the captain ate young Patrick’s colorful talking bird. The captain and Patrick talked of philosophies, the designs of other worlds, and the pleasures of eating and resting.

“Just what it is that we are looking for Captain?” Patrick queried. “What is there to find beyond the storm?”

“Reimbursement, boy,” Dean laughed. “I am going to pay off what I owed from someone that I owe too. And just beyond this storm, lies her home.”

Patrick looked at the captain in astonishment, how calm he is throughout this turmoil. And it seemed too odd for Patrick to comprehend how the Captain was suddenly interested in Patrick’s affairs. Prior to the bird event, the Captain didn’t even know that Patrick existed on his ship. And the knowledge Patrick had gathered about the captain before he joined the crew was that, Captain Dean was not the kind of man who would repay what he had indebted. And also, he thought of the captain but a simple minded man that only thinks of the material world, and not the one who talks of philosophies with such passion and understanding.
“How long do we have to bear the storm Captain?” Locke, the first mate asked the captain, fearing the safety of the ship and his own. “I don’t think we can take any more damage. If the current doesn’t decide to calm down, we all might be drowning in the next hour sir.”

Captain Dean turned to Locke. “Fear not. The stronger the storm, the closer we get.”

“I ain’t the one to question your orders sir. But, I hope this place you talking about is worth the struggle to get there.”
Captain Dean ignored the man, took out his spyglass from his coat. He looked through it, observing the horizon of the sea and then he smiled in joy. “We have found it men. We have found the Sirens’ nest.”

“Sirens’ nest? That doesn’t sound like a good place to visit,” Locke commented.

“Where is it?” Patrick asked.

Captain Dean tossed his spyglass towards the young lad. Patrick managed to catch it even the though the ship was wobbling unstably. Dean pointed at a specific spot in the sea and Patrick looked at the spot through the spyglass, and saw the tip of what seemed to be a tower a giant tower made out of ocean rocks. And it only has a single giant window on it. It looked like it sprouted from under the sea. “What is that?”

“That is the home to the most beautiful creatures in this world boy,” Dean said. “Set course towards the nest men.”

“If you planning to get into that hole sir, we need a place to drop anchor. And considering the weather, I don’t think it be wise to do that anywhere near the nest.”

“Obsecro ut interficias tempestati,” Captain Dean chanted towards the marine, all of the men who listened to him thought he had gone mad. But after a few seconds, the storm faded away, and the sun was in view, the clouds were clear. Safety has never been so bright.

“What the hell did you say to the sea Captain?!”

“Oh, saying please and asking politely can get you places Locke.”

The Ugly Bastard anchored not too far from the nest.

Dean picked a few handfuls of men to join him entering the nest. Among the men Captain Dean picked were Locke and Patrick themselves, and three other crew members.

The Man in Darkness by Raghav

" Never misjudge the power of the man in darkness. A man with thoughts of a legend. The one whom believe himself on his dreams, fighting with all the obstacles which slowing him down. Never misjudge such a person because one day when he face the light, he will be shining like none else and the world will realize that he wasn’t sleeping but working with his effort in the dark. "  -  Raghav Sekar  Above is a rather a motivational quote or in my opinion is a form of poem, by a friend of mine whom I have been asking time and time again to write up something for the blog. I am indeed happy that he finally decided to write something for us. :)
