TWO
The boy which was previously unknown is now known as Sam.
Sam here is going to buy something to eat before he goes to the same table where he had made a promise to a girl who he does not know the name yesterday. A promise that they would meet at the same place and time.
He got there earlier than usual, 30 minutes earlier. Like the previous part, he takes his favorite book and pen out. He had to write more when he got back yesterday but nothing came to mind except her face.
And so he waited for a good long 30 minutes and just as she had said yesterday, “Exactly at 1”, she was punctual.
He offered the girl a seat beside him. This time he takes the opportunity to ask her name.
“I’m Susan and you are?”
“It’s Sam.”
She unpacks her food once again, the same as she did the day before and he, this time ignores the book and pen. Instead, he starts a conversation with her. He begins with simple questions and slowly moving up to more heated matters.
“So, do you have a boyfriend Susan?”, he asked.
She giggled and paused for a brief second before answering him, “Unfortunately, I don’t but I’m sure a guy like you would have a lady by his side, right?”
“Huh, unfortunately I don’t as well.”
As time stretches further, he knows her a little by five percent at least. She majors in communication, loves to read, adores children, a very observant person and her relationship status: single.
Susan too knows something a little about Sam. He studies communication as well but a few semesters ahead of her, he loves to read, loves to sleep, loves to sit alone in the coffee shop, and apparently not very observant.
Normally a guy would straight up ask her out on a date but Sam here is as dense a rock. The chance slipped away from his sight as Susan once again leave the cafeteria.
"Can we meet again tomorrow?" he asked.
"Sure if you're free."
"Same time again?"
"Yes, but I might a little late." she replied.
Sam was confident that she would show up regardless and he would wait for her regardless. It is the start of something new.
He wrote on his book, 'This is just the beginning'.
