Sex, Guns and Words: Five

FIVE
It was a cloudy day out in the local park. He took out his book and his favorite pen, he scribbled notes of things he saw. People, dog, trees, cloud, sun, grass, cars, bicycles - things he observed.
He noticed a lady sitting by the bench area, he wanted to go talked to her which he did so. His straightforward personality made it easier for him. The respondent however, might not be so straightforward as he is.
He got up slowly, packed his stuff in his sling bag and went to where the lady was.
"Hello there beautiful," a friendly tone.
"What's a beautiful lady like you doing out here alone?" He asked.
“Trying to finish this book.” she looks at him with suspicion.
“What’s the book about?” he asked.
“Just your regular romance story about a boy meets girl kind of thing.”
“You’re into those kind of stuff eh?” as he takes a book out from his bag.
He gives the lady a good look at the book.
“I’m not much of a reader but I read once in a while.”
She looks at him with this sense of comfortability. She stops reading for a moment as they continue on with their conversation.
“So what’s a handsome guy like you doing out here?” she asked.
“Inspiration. I don’t have anything - I don’t know what to write about.”
“I could be that said inspiration.”
He enters his mind and thought to himself, “GOD damn I like where this is going.” He is pushing the right chat options here. Not wanting to push his luck even further he goes slow with the choice of words that comes out next.
They have been talking for so long that they forgot to introduce each other.
“I didn’t get your name earlier. How do I call address you?” she asked.
“It’s Sam. Everyone calls me Sam and how do I address you fair lady?” he asked.
“You can call me Elizabeth.”
“It’s almost night time, would you join me for dinner?” he asked politely.
“Sure, why not. You’re starting to grow on me.” she said.
It takes only a few minutes to truly know a person - by the way they dress, speak, sit and stand. He covered most of it or rather all of it.
They went to a local Middle Eastern restaurant not too far from where they were. They skim through the menu, looking for something unique to eat. Elizabeth suggested the famous shawarma which has tendered bits of skewered chicken, garlic puree and salad wrapped with pita. Elizabeth ordered the chicken kabsa which is generally a chicken rice but with an Arabic twist.
As they chew down their dinner, Elizabeth opened up a little more by saying, “I’m living alone.”
He thought to himself, ‘Is this a signal or something?’He paused for a more a while, thinking of what to say.
“We could go to your place after dinner, if you don’t mind.”
She did not reply soon after as she continued eating her food. She looks at him with an intent on eating him up. The way her lips moved, the way her eyes swayed and the way she handled her eating utensils sent off a signal of lust. She invited him to into her world.
He too was looking at her, noticing her every facial expressions and her intentions. The table was getting heated up. The atmosphere too was getting heated up. The restaurant itself was getting heated up. The fans were blowing way too slow.
They finished up their dinner as soon as possible for there was only passion in their eyes - the man and the woman.
“Shall we?”
“I think we shall.” she replied.

Sex, Guns and Words: EXTRA 3: First year

“I’m sorry Abdullah .” he shot the man with his silencer barrel pistol. Two shots were shot. He dragged the body back on the bed. His hand bloodied and deep down he felt guilty about it but he knew it had to be done. He takes out his phone and speeds dial to an unknown number, “The owl is now in a cage.” The receiver from the other end replied, “Affirmative agent. Rendezvous at the designated location.” He throws the phone away outside the window. He makes way onto the main deck with the rest of his belongings. He prepares his escape with the ship’s safety boat. He once again stares at the gun and tries to accept the situation that he has killed a person. He took a life away. “If you cannot fix a person then don’t hurt the person.” his father said. He keeps the gun and throws away the thought of his father’s advice. ‘I am now and not before’ as he sails away from the cargo ship.

Mythology of Borneo / Sabah - Mount Kinabalu [Part 1]

Information on the picture: it is drawn by Yeng Kiat [ source ] Mount Kinabalu’s (Malay:  Gunung Kinabalu ) [pronounced ki-na-bah-lu] name is a mystery to this day even among the locals. Because to each family, and to each person living in the state of Sabah the origin of the mountain’s name have their own different meaning. However, there is a common derivation of the name from the Kadazan words that is well known among the people of Sabah (mind you, the Kadazans aren’t the Dusuns, and the Dusuns aren’t the Kadazans, and there is an abundance of people living in the state),  Aki Nabalu , meaning ‘the revered place of the dead’. The local Kadazandusuns believe that when they pass away, their spirits will climb the mountain top and dwell there. Sir Hugh Low , a British colonial administrator and naturalist made the first documneted ascent to Kinabalu and he reported that his Kadazandusun guide carried an assortment of charms such as pieces of wood, human teeth, a...
